If purchased directly from Milano, contact us to submit your claim.
If purchased through an authorised distributor, claims should be lodged with that distributor.
Consumer guarantees under applicable law still apply, unless the product was purchased for business use.
3. Approved Sellers & Installers
Full warranty coverage applies only to:
Doors purchased directly from Milano or authorised distributors
Installations carried out by Milano-approved installers
Products installed by non-approved contractors may not be covered.
4. Warranty Conditions & Limitations
Correct Use & Care: Warranty is valid only when products are used, serviced and maintained according to Milano guidelines.
Installation: Defects caused by non-approved installation are excluded.
Repairs & Replacements: Milano decides whether to repair or replace defective parts.
Proof of Defect: Photographs or the return of defective parts may be required.
Warranty Start Date: From the date on your original invoice.
Environmental Exclusions: Corrosive coastal air, harsh industrial environments, excessive heat/moisture, and extreme weather are excluded.
Liability Limit: Warranty is capped at the product purchase price. Indirect losses (travel, business disruption, etc.) are excluded.
Exclusions: Use of non-Milano accessories, structural failure, timber warping/shrinkage, accidental damage before installation, drilling into hidden services, or failure to follow instructions.
Modifications: Any changes made to the product after manufacture void the warranty.
5. Care & Maintenance
Keeping your garage door clean and serviced is essential for safety, appearance, and smooth operation.
5.1 General Care
Lubrication: Apply silicone-based lubricant to hinges, rollers, and springs every few months. Do not use petroleum sprays like CRC 556, and never grease the tracks.
Track Cleaning: Use a cloth or brush to remove dust, grit, or salt deposits from tracks and hardware.
5.2 Washing Frequency
Environment Recommended Cleaning Interval Standard residential Every 3–6 months High use or dusty environments Every 2–3 months Coastal or industrial areas Monthly wash-down
Use warm water and a soft brush or sponge. A handy tip: wash your garage door whenever you wash your car.
5.3 Timber & Cedar Doors
Do not water-blast or pressure-wash.
Ensure panels are clean and dry before staining or painting.
Sand the full face evenly before applying finishes — patch sanding leads to uneven colour.
Always coat both sides of each panel.
Avoid dark stains or paints, which cause warping and may void the warranty.
Vertical shiplap profiles are used at the customer’s risk.
Reapply protective oils or stains within 12 months of installation and every 12 months thereafter.
5.4 Servicing Schedule
Door Type Service Interval Standard residential use Every 12 months Commercial use Every 6–12 months High-cycle doors (25+ daily operations) Every 3–6 months
Regular servicing ensures your garage door remains safe, balanced, and reliable.
6. Long-Term Benefits
By following Milano’s garage door care and servicing guidelines, you’ll protect your investment, extend the life of your door, and ensure smoother, quieter operation.
